How to Label for Back to School

Sending your kids back to school after the summer holidays requires quite a bit of preparation and organisation. Not only do you need to make sure that their school uniform still fits and their stationery and books are all present and accounted for, but you also have to make sure that all the necessities are labelled.

Shoe Labels
You may not think that shoes get lost, but the reality is, they do, particularly when kids need to take an extra pair for sports days or PE. That is where shoe labels come in handy. Circular stickers placed on the inside of their shoes lets your child knows who owns which shoes. Label the shoes so they go home safely at the end of every school day.

Book Labels
Backpacks get left open, and things fall out all of the time in the rush to leave the schoolyard. Because of this, school books, art folders and binders can get lost on a regular basis. Ensuring that the book labels are on their belongings will return them to their rightful owner.

Clothing Labels
Hats and jumpers can easily get misplaced at school, pre-school and daycare; and, as a parent, you will find they do so on a regular basis. Make sure that all of your child’s items such as school and sports clothing are suitably labelled near the tag area on the back of the neck to avoid confusion. Clothes for school and daycare can add up quickly, so you want to ensure that there is no mix-up. Clothing labels are available in both standard and mini sizes.

Pencil Labels
Pencil labels are helpful in the classroom as textas and pencils are passed around and shared. Labelling them ensures that they all come back to your child and they won’t be wondering where their favourite shade of pink or blue ended up. Pencil labels will ensure that their pencil case remains chock-o-block full of goodies until the end of the school year.

Lunch Box and Drink Bottle Labels
In a rush to get to the playground, lunch boxes and drink bottles can easily be scattered around the yard or left in the lunch room. With clear labelling, you can ensure that if your child’s lunch bag or water bottle is misplaced, it will quickly be returned to its rightful owner. Lunch box and drink bottle labels are microwave and dishwasher safe too. Consider them an essential label for those attending school for the first time, heading to daycare or returning at the start of the new school year.

Allergy Labels
Allergy labels will not apply to everyone, of course, but they are vital for those with allergies. These should be purchased over and above other personalised labels to let everyone know that your child has an allergy to either nuts, dairy, egg, fish, shellfish or gluten. If your child has more than one allergy, then allergy labels or anaphylactic labels can be useful. These labels, in particular, have room to list up to four allergies providing extra peace of mind for you and your child. Allergy labels can be added to lunchboxes, backpacks and water bottles and anywhere else that may be suitable.
